Confirmation Tip for Predatory Journals

Confirmation Tip for Predatory Journals

  By: Jude Nnaji on March 9, 2018, 10:12 a.m.

I have been receiving emails to publish in a Journal with wonderful website. I decided to visit its Editorial Board page and I searched the Institutional addresses of the Chief editor and three others, got their email adds and sent emails to them. To my suprise the alleged CE knew nothing about the journal which has published several volumes, the emails of two editors were non-existent while the fourth is yet to respond. DON'T BE DECEIVED BY WONDERFUL WEBSITES, ALWAYS DO A BACKGROUND CHECK

Hi Jude,

Wow, good detective work - you really went the extra mile to make sure this was a credible journal.

Good advice "always do a background check!"

Nice work Jude!

I often check if the editors of suspicious journals are real people, but the extra step of emailing them to see if they actually do the job is a worthwhile extra check. In many cases, I imagine the person involved will not be aware that their identity has been hijacked. With any luck they will tell the journal to "cease and desist". So your work will contribute to reducing the plague of fake journals.

Dear Andy and Members of AuthorAid,

I will like to verify this 3 journals before publishing my work with them;

To the academicians in the world of reputable journals, are this online and published journal predatory ;

1-International Journal of Business Ethics in Developing Economies

2-International Journal of Advanced Research (IJAR)

3- International Journals of Multidisciplinary Research Academy (IJMRA)

Your remarks will be appreciated before publishing with them.
