I am a microbiologist from Nigeria. One of our biggest challenges is lack of access to modern laboratory facilities. There is a serious lack of molecular tools across the country. And where they are available, researchers like me dont have direct access to such facilities. We only pay huge amount of money and come back for the data when it is ready. Moreover, in some centres where these facilities are available, lack of steady power supply and reagent are another major hindrances. These have made it difficult for us to conduct researches that would be accepted by good international journals.
